AMMAN – A specialized seminar in the field of industrial property and intellectual property (IP) protection, will take place in Dubai, UAE, during May 29-30, 1994, with the participation of a large number of Arab and foreign experts in these fields.
The seminar is considered one of the largest convened in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries specializing in the industrial property and IP areas.
From Jordan, Mr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh –Chairman of Talal Abu-Ghazaleh International-will be participating. One of the Talal Abu-Ghazaleh companies is Abu-Ghazaleh Intellectual Property (AGIP), the pioneering company in this field in the Arab region, which works through 34 offices distributed throughout the Arab world. Mr. Abu-Ghazaleh is representative of this IP expertise at organizations such as the UN and the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), as he is Chairman of the Arab Society for the Protection of Industrial Property.
It is worth noting that Mr. Abu-Ghazaleh contributed in providing consulting services and preparation of laws and legislations specific to industrial and intellectual property protection for numerous Arab countries such as the UAE, Yemen and the Sultanate of Oman. Also, Abu-Ghazaleh’s company provides training and consultation to the UAE government in the field of implementing laws specific to industrial and intellectual property protection.
Participating in the seminar will be a number of experts from the GCC countries and from WIPO, in addition to representatives from the Ministry of Media and Culture in the UAE, and the representative from the USA General Consulate. There will also be experts there from major global corporations such as Glaxo, Mercedes-Benz, Price Waterhouse and Clifford Chance.
