NEW YORK------- July 31, 2012--------- As part of Talal Abu-Ghazaleh International (TAGI) commitment to strengthen its relationship with international accounting and auditing bodies, Mr. Ahmed Abualhomos, TAGI executive director, recently visited the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) Headquarters in New York.
During the visit, Mr. Abualhomos held a meeting with Mr. Barry Naik, Technical Manager at Forum of Firms (FOF) and Ms. Gabriella Kusz, Technical Manager/Member Body Development to discuss the importance of adoption of international standards and the role IFAC is playing in contributing to the development, adoption, and implementation of high-quality international standards worldwide.
Mr. Naik highlighted the positive response of TAGI to IFAC requests and requirements, and the cooperation that TAGI has shown as a member of FOF.
Mr. Abualhomos explained that TAGI Chairman, Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, supports the application and adoption of the International Standards on Auditing and International Public Sector Accounting Standards. During the meeting, they also discussed the recent appointment of Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh to the WTO panel on Global Trade.
Mr. Abualhomos also conveyed to Mr. Naik the greetings of Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh to Mr. Fayezul Choudhury, the newly appointed CEO of IFAC.
