AQABA - Abu-Ghazaleh Intellectual Property (AGIP) is organizing a training course entitled “Intellectual Property Protection” in Aqaba March 22-23, 2006.
The two-day event is targeting the employees of Jordan Institution for Standards and Metrology (JISM), Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA) Customs, and the Aqaba Development Company (ADC) in cooperation with the Aqaba Chamber of Commerce.
The training course will be addressing several IP-related issues starting with an introduction to the concept and development of intellectual property (IP) protection, in addition to providing the participants with practical measures to detect products that infringe on original trademarks.
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed last November between AGIP and the Institution, which aims at enhancing and developing methods and mechanisms formulated to protect consumers and prevent commercial fraud.
As stipulated by the Memorandum, AGIP shall hold special training courses and workshops for the Institution’s employees providing them with information and promoting awareness concerning intellectual property protection issues.
