AMMAN - The Arab Society for Intellectual Property (ASIP) will hold their monthly roundtable on Saturday, September 3 to discuss Jordan’s Customs Department’s role in protecting intellectual property rights (IPRs). The meeting will begin at 5:00 pm at the ASIP Headquarters in Amman, ag-IP-news agency reported.
The roundtable will be moderated by Judge Hazem Al Smadi, chief Judge of the First Instant Court, head of Development Directorate of the Ministry of Justice and chairman of the ASIP Teaching and Training Committee in Jordan. The opening speeches will be given by Alia Abu Aisheh and Emad Nosaeir from the Jordanian Customs Department.
The discussions will reinforce the significance of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed by Jordan’s Customs Department and Abu-Ghazaleh Intellectual Property (AGIP) on July 18, 2005, aimed at increasing cooperation between the two parties and enhancing their efforts in protecting IPRs.
