AMMAN – Abu-Ghazaleh Consulting Co. (AGCON), a member firm of the Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Organisation (TAGorg) has produced a special report to the UN on information and communication technologies (ICT) and development.
 
The report was presented to the United Nations Information and Communication Technologies Task Force (UN ICT TF), which is the body concerned with advising UN departments as well as Secretary General Kofi Annan, on ICT and development issues thereby assisting the international organization in carrying out its tasks on a comprehensive level.
 

The report consists of recommendations, data and strategic proposals that agree with the objectives of the UN to achieve the optimal use of ICT in order to enhance performance as well as better utilization of data to overcome developmental challenges facing countries. These data and proposals aim to integrate the infrastructure and program solutions of ICTs within the various sections and departments of the UN and set up an advanced system to access information, manage and disseminate data within various UN agencies and provide advice and strategic direction on applying ICT to member countries to contribute in the enhancement of economic and social development in those countries.
