AMMAN - The Amman Chamber of Industry (ACI) will be organizing a training course entitled " Financial Instruments-International Accounting Standard 39: Recognition and Measurement" May 4-8, 2002 as part of the partnership program between ACI and the German Chamber of Industry and Commerce (DIHK) under the supervision of SEQUA Corps.
This event is funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) in collaboration with the Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Organization (TAGorg).
The course serves the purpose of executing ACI's goals to develop the services provided to its industrial members, acquiring the technical expertise to achieve industrial development and raise the level of competitiveness and exportation of Jordanian products. In addition, this course will play a significant role in keeping the industrial sector abreast with the latest developments on how to face the challenges of economic globalization.
Participants will learn more about the basic principles and knowledge in respect of the recognition and measurement of financial instruments and their disclosure in bank and other institutions statements. The importance of IAS 39 will also be highlighted with a focus on its impact on the accounts of financial institutions and firms, its role in changing many accounting concepts used in banks as well as disclosures that should be provided in financial statements and the importance of ensuring financial officials' awareness of those changes.
Moreover, the training course will shed light on the basic features of accounting such as financial instruments and risk management in addition to derivatives, recognition, measurement and hedging.
Attending the event are financial managers and accountants in both the private and public sectors as well as internal and external account auditors and financial regulatory authorities.
