Mr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, President of the Arab Society for Certified Accountants (ASCA), announced the accreditation of ASCA to be the first Arab and international professional association to apply the international curriculum for accountants approved by the Experts Committee of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) , the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) and other international professional associations.
Mr. Abu-Ghazaleh, during a press conference held yesterday, clarified that ASCA worked through contracts with 34 university professors specialized in accounting to develop the curriculum which includes; the education system of accounting and auditing, the economy, taxes and all financial matters through the formation of textbooks according to the internationally approved curriculum .Textbooks will be ready for students with effect with the beginning of next year.
He noted that the examinations of ASCA will be held according to the new curriculum in eight subjects including 27 books.
Mr. Abu-Ghazaleh explained that ASCA, so far, signed 14 cooperation agreements with Arab universities in order to deliver its message to the scientific institutions throughout the Arab world, which is qualifying the Arab student in the field of accounting with the ACPA certificate. He pointed out that ASCA is a member in all of the international professional associations.
He said that under these agreements, universities prepare the qualifying sessions for students registered for ASCA’s exams, like those which are now held, for example, in Ras La Nof Company, Benghazi, Libya, for the company’s employees registered for ASCA’s exams this year.
Mr. Abu-Ghazalehalso announced the issuing of the Arab intellectual property laws book, which contains intellectual property laws of all Arab countries including Palestine, which are collected for the first time by Abu-Ghazaleh Intellectual Property (AGIP). This book provides the commercial institutions working across national borders and their legal advisers with full details in the following practice areas:
Eligibility for the protection, registration and renewal procedures, conflicts resolution, transmission of rights, imposition of sanctions because of violation, and administrative and judicial corrections.
Mr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh declared that the first international conference on e-commerce and ways to confront it will be held on the 9th of this month over two consecutive days in the Sultanate of Oman. An elite of world leadership in business ,private and public sector representatives, experts in the world of business and communications, specialists in the field of e-business management, in addition to many law and IT experts and decision-makers in government institutions, economic community and international organizations, will participate in the conference.
