Under the auspices of His Excellency the Minister of Industry and Commerce, the first Arab Conference on Strategic Marketing, Export and E-Commerce will be held in Amman on October 26-27, 1999 at the Radisson SAS Hotel. The conference is organized by the Arab Company for Scientific Media (Shoa’a) and Talal Abu-Ghazaleh & Co. International (TAGI), in collaboration with the two companies (UBM / IBM) and (JOINET).
 
On the need to hold this conference at the present time, Mr. Ziad Daoud, the Public Relations Director (Shoa’a),declared that it has become an urgent need to hold such a conference at a time where markets are expanding , competition is increasing, the subsequent changes of globalization at the local and global levels are taking place, and as a result of the Internet’s penetration of all areas of our lives, along with the radical variables and transformations that marketing/sales men/women are facing and which became difficult to keep up with, control or ignore them.
 
The conference will discuss over two days sixteen subjects focused on the strategic planning of marketing and export in light of globalization, and it will deal with different dimensions, such as: the death of traditional marketing, the end of the marketing mix ,the importance of the shopping skill in our lives, creating global brands, globalization , the penetration of markets and competition. The second day will address e-commerce, internet, marketing strategies via the Internet, the choice of effective models of e-commerce, planning, building and designing websites, as well as guarantees for the exchange of data across cyberspace, the nature of Internet and Extranet, the future of e-commerce and its impact on business, finally, the impact of Internet and e-commerce on the work environment and the future of management.
