RIYADH – The 116th meeting for the International Trademark Association (INTA) concluded yesterday with the attendance of over 3000 patents and trademarks experts and lawyers from around the world.
This is the first meeting for the association that is convened under its new name as an international association, after its previous name of the American Trademark Association was cancelled. The first name was used up till the last meeting that took place in July of last year. The association explained the name change being due to the desire to organize laws and trademarks worldwide in a unified system, in order to emphasize the new global dimension of the association.
Participating in the conference was Chairman of the Arab Society for the Protection of Intellectual Property, Mr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, and numerous society members who presented during the conference a definition of the role of intellectual property protection in industrial and economic growth in the Arab world.
