The Forum has become a permanent establishment-Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh
AMMAN----December 27, 2011----- The 6th Meeting of the Economic Policies Support Forum Convened at Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Business Forum.
HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, President of the Forum tackled the measures implemented to adopt the guidelines at the 5th Meeting of the Economic Policies Support Forum that requires to institutionalize the Forum and make it a permanent body, a decision unanimously taken by all participants that there is a need to make the Forum a permanent institution to serve Jordan and other Arab countries.
He added that this decision comes to complement the vision and initiative of His Majesty King Abdullah II Ibn Al Hussein to support the third national Economic Forum 2002 and especially the commitment to the Royal vision of new mechanisms to develop the work of the council and move to become a national forum as well as the importance of the Forum in turning into a host for national ideas, and shall hold conferences and seminars, meetings, and involve all segments of society in the formulation of future directions of the state in order to achieve sustainable development and raise the standards of living, and by this we have adopted the same line drawn by the leadership.
He added that the Forum will have a new logo, organizational structure and objectives and the formation of the Board of Trustees and Executive Committee and consultants. The meeting elected Ms. Reem Badran, Deputy Chairman of the Forum with special appreciation to all team members of Jordan's accession to the GCC Committee.
Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh called for sending a recommendation to the government to negotiate with the Gulf States on agreements that will serve the national economy so as to enhance the GDP.
Meanwhile, the Forum was restructured and includes:

Dr. Ali Madadha-General Coordinator
The meeting tackled in details the Transparency Committee which according to the Forum President will work on issuing anti-corruption regulations and set policies which include criteria that make transparency in all sectors.
Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh pointed out that the National Agenda is being considered a draft in the next phase and what was implemented and what was not are being studied.
The Economic Policies Support Forum was established on June 25, 2011. It was held under the invitation and initiative of HE Dr. Talal Abu- Ghazaleh to study the economic situation of the country, issue an economic study in a comprehensive analytical and scientific method supported with data and statistics to be presented to government decision makers.
