AMMAN – The Arab Thought Forum (ATF) has invited HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, founder and chairman of Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Global Digital (TAG.GD), to speak in a special panel discussion entitled “Reforming the United Nations”. The session will be moderated by the ATF Secretary General Dr. Sadiq Al-Faqih.

ATF is inviting all interested individuals to take part in the session, which will be held at the Forum’s headquarters, on Monday, July 7, 2025, at 6:00 pm (Jordan time).

During the session, Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh will tackle several topics from his recently-published book entitled “From the United Nations to the United People”, sharing with the attendees his extensive wealth of knowledge and experience at the United Nations, recalling the Organization’s accomplishments over eight decades; its noble mission and achievements that have served the humanity worldwide.

Given the United Nations inability to keep pace with contemporary global developments, Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh believes that the U.N. in its current structure, is no longer capable of  effectively fulfilling  its mission; mainly in maintaining international peace and security, protecting human rights without bias to super powers’ interests and demands, and ensuring justice in global relations between countries and peoples.

In both his book and the upcoming Forum, Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh calls for a comprehensive overhaul and restructuring of the United Nations. Therefore, he launched a global call for action directed to decision-makers, intellectuals, and elites worldwide, asserting that “The time has come for the abolition of the Veto power.”

It is worth mentioning that the Arab Thought Forum (ATF), established in 1981, chaired by HRH Prince El Hassan bin Talal, is a non-governmental intellectual organization dedicated to analyzing and evaluating the current state of the Arab region, forecast future challenges, and formulate practical solutions and viable policy options through an open platform for dialogue.
