AMMAN - The prominent Arab economist and businessman, HE Dr. Talal
Abu-Ghazaleh, founder and chairman of Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Global Digital
(TAG.GD), has asserted that the world today is experiencing a new phase of
World War III, between China and the US, that has already started in Europe
with the Russia-Ukraine war, later moving to the Arab region, and is now
expected to ultimately conclude in South China Sea.The decisive battle, he
believes, will center on Taiwan, which is considered one of the key reasons
behind the China-US conflict due to Taiwan’s critical role in global
semiconductor production. Whichever power controls Taiwan, he says, will
effectively dominate the world.
These remarks were made during a televised interview on Sky News
Arabia, in which Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh tackled several key international and
regional issues.
He added that China has now emerged as the world’s leading
military superpower, especially its navy, which comes in line with its
strategic objectives for protecting Taiwan from the US interventions.
He also pointed out to China’s rapid technological
advancement, particularly its role in hosting major global tech firms,
including Apple, stating that it is considered the world’s largest contributor
to global patents, and is rapidly surpassing all other countries in this field.
