- Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Global Digital (TAG.GD) has finalized the electronic
archiving project of the Egyptian Patent Office (EGPO) documents, which is affiliated
with the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).
The project
included converting 30,000 patent documents into searchable text files. The
content was reviewed, edited, and formatted as searchable PDF files, which were
then uploaded to the EGPO Electronic Document Management System (EDMS) and
WIPO’s PATENTSCOPE system.
In this context, HE Dr. Talal
Abu-Ghazaleh, TAG.GD founder and chairman said: “We are pleased to collaborate
with WIPO and join forces to empower organizations and individuals worldwide to
help them protect their intellectual assets and open new opportunities for
economic development.” He added that “this partnership serves as a significant
step in the IP Management field, It reaffirms TAG.GD’s firm commitment to
leading innovation and technological advancement,” pointing out that TAG.GD and
WIPO have effectively devoted their expertise and resources to implement this
project successfully.
For his part, Mr. Samer Al-Ramahi, E-Archiving Department
executive director at TAG.GD, has emphasized that the archiving system adopted
by TAG.GD is a world-class solution aligned with ISO international standards.
This system, Mr. Al-Ramahi noted, features an advanced search tool that enables
quick access to data anytime by any electronic device; whether a laptop,
smartphone, or any other smart device.
He added that the archiving process consists of multiple
phases, starting with file collection, preparation, scanning, indexing, file
reviewing and restoring, as well as the implementation of document management
system. TAG E-Archiving Department also offers document management consultancy
services, and workflow and business process management services.
Mr. Al-Ramahi further reaffirmed TAG.GD’s successful
achievement in archiving over 250 million documents in just three years for
major public and private institutions in Jordan and several Arab countries.
This was achieved using a specialized and integrated electronic document
management system developed in accordance with top international standards,
available in various languages.
