BAGHDAD - Prime Minister Mohammed S. Al-Sudani met today,
Sunday, with the President of the Arab Global Congress for Innovation and
businessman HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh and his accompanying delegation.
His Excellency affirmed Iraq’s support for any initiative
that unites and enhances Arab knowledge, including hosting events that promote
innovation and entrepreneurship. He also expressed Iraq’s readiness to serve as
the headquarters for the Arab Global Congress for Innovation. The Prime
Minister highlighted that Iraq has schools for gifted students, which the
government is working to develop and expand to cover all provinces.
Prime Minister Al-Sudani explained that the government has
established the National Center for Digital Transformation and the National Cybersecurity
Center to design policies, programs, and benefit from international
experiences. Once the digital transformation plan is completed, the related
legislation will be enacted.
For his part, Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh welcomed the Prime Minister’s
proposal to establish the headquarters of the Arab Global Congress for
Innovation in Baghdad. He noted that the standards of wealth and economic power
are no longer based solely on hydrocarbon resources but increasingly depend on
the knowledge economy, which requires integrating programming concepts and
mechanisms into all educational curricula.
