AMMAN - For the tenth consecutive year, HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, chairman and founder of Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Global Digital (TAG.GD), participated in the inauguration of the 2026 World English Language Olympia (ELO), organized by Massa International Testing Company, under the patronage of Jordan’s Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, HE Eng. Sami Smeirat.
This year’s activities of the Olympia, held at the Applied Science Private University; the official hosting sponsor of the 2026 ELO, were organized under the theme ‘Artificial Intelligence’, with the attendance of the University President, Prof. Dr. Samiha Jarrah.
The participation of Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh, the official patron and key speaker of the Olympia, took place through a recorded keynote address delivered this year through Zoom app. In his speech, Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh expressed his pride in the positive impact of this event, which aims to improve the language skills of participants. He added that the continuation of this event for eleven consecutive years represents an important and inspiring national and international success story.
In his remarks, Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh stated that the English language is considered the primary language of communication and knowledge in the world, which makes its learning extremely important to enable its speakers to access science and technology realms. He further underlined the significance of keeping pace with the developments in AI and benefitting from it in developing teaching and learning methods, particularly in language learning.
For his part, Director General of the Olympia, Dr. Majid Hamad, said that the most important goal of the ELO is the dissemination of the cultures of different peoples within a unified educational vision that contributes to strengthening shared values, breaking intellectual stereotypes, as well as traditional constraints in learning.
It is noteworthy that this year's Olympics was held with the participation of more than 1000 students from various educational institutions in Jordan and other different countries. It is worth noting that the Olympics initiative aims to improve leadership and entrepreneurial skills, enhance teamwork and community service abilities, advance scientific research and theatrical performance and employing them in ways that serve the best academic and professional interests of students.
It should also be noted that the qualifying teams at the 2026 National ELO – Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, will participate in the International English Olympia which is scheduled to be held in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
