The lecture which was attended by a host of diplomats, government officials and private and public sector representatives tackled the unique bond between the EU and the Kingdom which according to the European Union Ambassador  is "at its best."


AMMAN-----July 17, 2012------ HE Ms Joanna Wronecka, Head of Delegation of the European Union/EU Ambassador stressed on the strong and excellent relations between the European Union and Jordan in an informative lecture held at Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Business Forum.


The lecture which was attended by a host of diplomats, government officials and private and public sector representatives tackled the unique bond between the EU and the Kingdom which according to EU Ambassador is "at its best."


"The relationship between the EU and Jordan is very strong and the current cooperation includes major fields and sectors. The EU Jordan's Action Plan aims at strengthening democracy, developing businesses, eradicating unemployment, fighting corruption in addition to strengthening the role of women in the business sector.


EU Ambassador called on creating the right investment environment to attract European investors to Jordan.


The Arab Spring and the Arab-European relations were also tackled in the lecture with EU Ambassador focusing on the transitional stage the Arab world is facing saying:"The EU must follow a new approach in dealing and cooperating with the Arab countries especially with the new phase and must also move faster in line with the rapid developments in the region.”


EU Ambassador praised the reform process by the Jordanian government, encouraging it to work more with respect to the election law, political parties, and constitutional amendments.


The Ambassador also discussed the importance of education and capacity building in eliminating unemployment and called for the public and private sectors to work together in setting up programs that can help create opportunities for the unemployed.


HE Dr. Nabil Sharif, Languages Academy Executive Director and former Minister and Jordanian government spokesperson welcomed EU Ambassador and presented her TAGSB shield in recognition of her efforts in various fields.  


Before joining the EU Foreign Service in 2011, Ambassador Joanna Wronecka served as Ambassador of the Republic of Poland in Morocco, Mauritania (non-resident), Egypt and Sudan (non-resident).


She started her work in Jordan as Head of Delegation of the European Union in January 2011.
