For the 2nd consecutive year, JCI Jordan’s Convention brought together prominent speakers and hosted a number of training sessions that allowed participants to elevate their belief in their abilities to create a better future

AMMAN-----October 30, 2012------- Under the patronage of HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, the Jordan’s Junior Chamber International (JCI) held recently its 2nd National Convention under the title "Sustain Ability" with the participation of 80 youths representing various educational institutions at Talal Abu-Ghazaleh University (TAGIUNI).

For the 2nd consecutive year, JCI Jordan’s Convention brought together prominent speakers and hosted a number of training sessions that allowed participants to elevate their belief in their abilities to create a better future.

In his keynote speech, Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh stressed on the role of the youth in making the right change and the right decisions in selecting the perfect initiatives for change. He also encouraged them to embrace the world of digital age and knowledge in order to have a better future. He cited an example of Finland and Jordan saying that “it does not make sense that Finland which resembles Jordan in its limited resources and population has a Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of 266 billion dollars while Jordan is only 30 billion dollars.”

He also encouraged the attendees to change the name from Junior Chamber International to Youth Chamber and to become a knowledge society with links to knowledge economy.

He also applauded the participation of female attendees pointing out that this is really encouraging in the digital age. He also requested to have a group representing youth in the Economic Policy Development Forum.

For the first time this year, JCI hosted a debate contest where four teams competed in two rounds to come up with a national winning debating team.
